Public and private certifications designed for consultants and corporate practitioners to have full flexibility and lifetime access to SAL. Certified facilitators can use, customize, and brand SAL in any work they deliver. Enterprise licenses are also available.
Certifications prepare trainers, coaches, speakers, consultants, and leaders to use SAL in their work. This starts with understanding the core mindset of the SAL model and then expands to best practices of how to use SAL in specific instances.
There are two options for certifications: public and private. All individuals interested in being certified are interviewed as a preliminary step. This interview assesses foundational skills in and experience with leadership development.
Highlights for Certifications include:
- Pre-work is to read the SAL book, complete the Self-Assessment, review the Development Plan, and preview the Portal.
- The 2-day virtual certification is 12 hours of training including work on content fluency, teach backs, and best practices.
- The post-work includes a 2-hour coaching circles ~2 weeks after the training, plus options for 1×1 coaching sessions.
- Monthly updates and quarterly development workshops continue the skill building and community building.
A SAL license provides access to use SAL assets.
An individual license allows Certified Facilitators to use SAL models and deliver SAL content when they are the one delivering the content. This certification remains with the individual forever.
The enterprise license provides all employees of the company access to use SAL content for internal delivery. Facilitators still need to be certified but there is no requirement to use SAL products in the delivery as with the individual license.
Can anyone buy a SAL Content License?
Anyone can inquire: employees or consultants. Candidates are interviewed and then invited to become certified. Certification is on content fluency, not training or coaching skills.
Can the SAL content be modified?
Yes. You can modify, customize, rebrand content; you cannot edit core SAL models. All use of the content and models must clearly reference © The Self-Aware Leader.
How does pricing work?
SAL Certification is $1,000 per participant. Purchasing SAL products is separate. Where there is no enterprise license, SAL Facilitators must buy a SAL product of their choice for each use.
Is there a certification?

Is the certification tied to the employee or employer?
The certification is linked to the individual. The certification stays with you throughout your career regardless of which employer originally sponsored you.
